TTS Traffic and Transport Surveys was founded by Brent Norgate in 1979 at the Sydney beachside suburb of Manly.

For nearly 20 years Brent expanded his data product offering and coverage across Australia, with offices opening in Brisbane in 1990, Melbourne in 1994, and in Canberra in 1999.

Brent was an active supporter of the Australian Institute of Traffic Planning and Management (AITPM) up to his sudden passing.
